Performance Modifications: The best thing next to sex
Camshafts,Heads,Gears,Superchargers,Nitrous,Turbos, etc. are the best part of upgrading your car. There are so many different combos and parts to match up that it makes it more fun picking out what you want than it is putting them on. The best part of it all is the first start up of the engine and after the break in when you can really see if all that hard work and missing skin off your knuckles was worth it. It's great to pull into the local car club parking spot on Saturday night on the cruise strip with some new toys on the ride, and to see the different setups of your buds and hear the horror stories of the installation of parts. Going to the track and seeing the gains in MPH and lower ET's from your new setup is the pay-off. Being able to beat the guy you were so close to before is just as good. Seeing a Honda Civic with exhaust (hearing actually), a body kit and hood with a 4 wing spoiler and usually 90% of the time the whole kit is primered just doesn't do it for me. Usually they all run the same ETs depending on who is heavier. There are those few import cars that went the performance route first and get my respect when I see a 17 second car run a mid-13 and sometimes 12s...and the car looks bone stock or has more money in the engine than the body. To each his own I guess. I always went by the rule of "You have to be fast to look fast" A 6" diameter tack on the dash of a 4-cylinder doesn't make it fast. Same goes for any car. This is my favorite area of a car...the engine bay. Here is a list of what has been done so far. Both by me and the previous owner.

Parts from the Project
So far nothing yet. It's a whole new engine being built anyway.

MSD-6AL
The existing fuse box had to be relocated to mount the Ignition. It worked out well.

Custom made Fuel Hatch
This was a GREAT move made the previous owner when he installed the Walbro fuel pump. F-Bodies require that you remove the fuel tank in order to install one of these fuel pumps. He decided while it was out to cut and create a hatch to allow access to the fuel pump for future changes etc. without having to drop the tank. This little inexpensive extra saved a lot of headaches and cut down a 10 hour job to about 1 hour. Inline fuel pumps also eliminate the need for dropping the tank but I prefer an in-tank pump anyday.
